Mr. and Mrs. Charles Shirley and children have returned to their home in Los Angeles following a two-weeks' vacation spent with her Mother, Mrs. Agnes West; a brother, Arthur West, and other relatives and friends in the district. Mrs. Shirley is the former Lois West.

Pfc. Leon Toms, who has been stationed in Colorado, visited Tues­day and Wednesday with his grandmother, Mrs. Mary Bryant, and father, Cecil Toms, and fam­ily, enroute to a camp in Fort Worth, Tex. Toms attended school in Picher several years ago. He was married one month ago and plans to bring his wife here for a visit soon.

Z. A. Duggan, 516 North Trails End, who was employed In Kellogg, Ida., was called home by the illness of his wife. Accompanying him home were Jim Sloane and George Ross of Picher and Louis Brandon of Hockerville.

Mrs. Roger Graham and daugh­ters, Janet and Mary Lucille, vis­ited Tuesday with the former's brother, Bob Lollar, and family in Miami. Miss Janet Graham has accepted employment in the office of the Bomford Insurance Company in Miami.

Mr. and Mrs. Harley Duggan and her mother, Mrs. Amy Silkey, have returned from a visit with Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Miller and family at Minneapolis, Kas.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mrs. Freda Wright is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Hugh Halte­man, and family in Kansas City.

The Lydia circle of the First

Baptist church met Thursday after­noon in the home of Mrs. Andrew Brown. The hostess gave the de­votions and directed the lesson study from the home mission book, "Trail Blazers." Refreshments were served to nine members and one guest, Mrs. Kenneth Cox. Mrs. Merl Carlin will entertain the circle next Thursday.

Mr. and Mrs. George Leece and son, Gary, of Colorado Springs have been visiting this week with relatives throughout the district. They visited Thursday night with her grandmother Mrs. Fannie Thompson of Miami, who is a guest in the home of her sisters, Mrs. Etta Austin and Mrs. Cora Moore this week.

Mrs. Opal Bowman, newly in­stalled noble grand, will be in charge of the regular business meeting of the Rebekah lodge at 7:30 o'clock Tuesday night at the IOOF hall. Members of the Rain­bow Past Noble Grand club will serve refreshments. .

their Auxiliary and families will hold a picnic at Schermerhorn Park  near Galena Monday night.  Each family will bring, a. basket of  food and table service. Those wish­ing transportation are asked to meet at 6 o'clock at the hall, - 503 North Connell avenue. If the weather should be rainy, the din­ner will be served at the hall.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Rober­son and daughter, Cindy, left Fri­day for a month's vacation with relatives in Cherokee, Okla.
