Wanda Fay Hargis

Wanda Fay Hargis of Miami, Oklahoma passed away June 5, 2012 at Higher Call Nursing Center in Quapaw, Oklahoma. She was 71. She was born on July 25, 1941 in Butte, Montana to Acie Azra O’Dell and Daisy Silvia (Warren). She graduated from Picher High School. She lived in Picher for 65 years. She worked for DHS for 12 years as a Provider and the Senior Companion Program. She attended Faith Tabernacle in Commerce, Oklahoma. She loved writing songs, singing and participating in singings to shut-ins and nursing homes.

She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her son Charles Chance of Miami, OK, three daughters Cindy Patterson of Joplin, MO, Kristy Chance of Miami, OK, and Sherri McMackin and husband Brian of Quapaw, OK. She is also survived by her brother Charles O’Dell and wife Donna of Mineral Wells, Texas, thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday June 8, 2012 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce, Oklahoma. Pastor Danny Showen will officiate. Pallbearers will be Aaron Houk, Frank Hart, Dustin Hart, Clayton Hart, Tyler Estep, and Dylan Chance. Family will receive friends from 6-7pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
