Steven Berl Garrett

Steven Berl Garrett of Commerce, Okla. passed away on Monday, Oct. 21, 2013 at his home. Steve was 55 years old. He was born on Oct. 22, 1957 in Miami, Okla. to James K. Garrett and Patty I. (Kveum) Garrett. He worked for 33 years at Umicore Optical Materials formally known as Eagle-Picher. He graduated from Picher-Cardin Schools in 1975. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Miami and the
Davis Sunday School Class.

He is preceded in death by his father James, his uncle & aunt Berl and Billie Garrett
and niece Jennifer Bryan Judd.

He is survived by his mother Patty of Commerce, Okla. and two children, Jessi Sky Garrett of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Josh Garrett and wife Brittany of Carthage, Mo. He is also survived by step-children Marcie Wade, Jessica Wade and Travis Wade all of Miami, Okla. His five surviving grandchildren are Tucker Steven Garrett and Jax James Garrett of Carthage, Mo. and Adaya Chevere, Breanna Munoz and Jaxton Davis of Miami, Okla. Also surviving is brother David Garrett and wife Pam of Miami, Okla. and sister Debbie Bryan and husband Dale of Miami, Okla. He is also survived by nieces, nephews,
other relatives and friends.

Steve was a loving father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He loved God and lived his life serving the Lord and others. His hobbies included time on his motorcycle, reading his Bible and time with his kids, grandkids and family. He was an avid superman fan and the world’s best papa superman. He will leave a void in the lives of his family
and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service for Steven Berl Garrett will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Miami. He will be buried at G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday evening at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami. Pallbearers will be Randy Gleaves, Robert Skaggs, Rex Mullins, Mike McCoy, Billy Kerley and Jack Pace. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Garrett, Stephen (Bub) Garrett, Kris Garrett, Chad Davis, David Garrett, Dale Bryan and Travis Wade.
