Robert “Wayne” Howard, 58, Carthage, died at 4:05 a.m. Wednesday, Jan 8, 2003, at Freeman Hospital, Joplin, Mo. after a year-long illness.


Mr. Howard was born Jan 28, 1944, in Miami, Okla., to Cecil Howard and Nadine Green. He was a driver for Yellow Freight System, Baxter Springs, Kan. For 31 years.


He was a member of the First Assembly of God Church, Carthage, Mo.

He married Sandra Kay Newman on July 26, 1962 at First Baptist Church, Miami Okla., and she survives.


Other Survivors include three daughters, Kathy Harris and her husband Mike, Carthage, Regina Taylor and her husband Louis, Reeds and Gail Hamilton and her husband Jeff, Lamar; and one son, Cecil Howard and his wife Kendall, Carthage; grand-daughters Denise, Amber and Megan Taylor, Reeds; Emily Harris; Carthage; Kaitlin Hamilton, Lamar; and  grandson Justin Howard; Carthage. His mother, Nadine Goodrich and his
stepfather Johny Goodrich; Joplin.


He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Howard and a brother,
 Clifford Howard.


Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan 10 at Fullerton Cemetery,
 south of Carthage.


Memorials are suggested to the First Assembly of God Mission Fund
 in care of Ulmer Funeral Home, Carthage.
