Leslie “Bud” Key, of North Miami, died
at home early Friday, Feb. 19, 2010,
after a lengthy illness. He was 77. Mr.
Key was born Jan. 26, 1933, at Picher,
to Plymouth and Shirley (Caswell) Key.
He was a veteran, having served in the
US Army during the Korean War. He was in
the 82nd Airborne Division, serving as a
paratrooper and gliderman. He was plant
manager for US Metal Container and
Newell Coach for 33 years.
He married Linda J. Sample on April 18,
1980. She survives, of the home.
Additional survivors include two sons
and their wives, Tommy W. and Lori Key
and Robert L. and Karen Key all of
Miami; three daughters, Becky L. and
Larry Butler of Springfield, Mo., Lynn
A. and John Jennings of Quapaw, Beverly
A. and Mike Ellis of Afton; two sisters,
Carolyn Key of Miami and Sandy Caldwell
of Shreveport, La.; nine grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren. He was
preceded by his parents, one sister,
Maxine Bagby, and one brother, Kenneth
L. Key. A graveside committal service
will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at
Glen Abby Cemetery, with Rev. Ed McFall
officiating.
