Harold Forbis, Jr. of Miami, Ok died
Monday July 25, 2011. He was 71.
Mr. Forbis was born October 8, 1939 in Old Ketchum, Ok to
Harold and Jewel Woneda (Perryman) Forbis. He graduated from
Ketchum High School in 1957. He had lived in Miami for 25 years
moving from Cardin, Ok. He had worked in maintenance at B.F.
Goodrich and Blitz USA in Miami. He was a member of the Highway
Tabernacle in Quapaw, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ivy Edward
Forbis, a sister Dovie Lou Forbis and a Great-grandson Kobie
Michael Smith. He married Mary Jane (Rhodes) on October 6, 1958
in Miami, OK. She survives of the home. Additional survivors:
two sons, Harold L. Forbis of Miami, Okla. and Billy Forbis of
Miami, Okla.; three daughters, Kim Mahurin of Miami, Okla.,
Tonya Perkins of Muskogee, Okla. and Carol Harrison of Sedalia,
Mo.; foster son Bo Fry of Miami, Okla.; foster daughter, Cheryl
Phelan of Goodman, Mo.; brother, Charles Forbis of Grove,
Okla.; two sisters, Geneva Smoke of Ketchum, Okla. and Woneda
Moffett of Cleora, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; four step
grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and nine step great
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday July 30, 2011 at 10 a.m. at
the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce, Oklahoma. Rev. Ray
Clonts will officiate. Pallbearers will be Larry Mahurin,
Dustin Forbis, Rusty Forbis, John Forbis, Mike Gaines, and
Robert McKibben. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jason Waldon, Joe
Waldon, Justin Waldon. Interment will be in G.A.R. Cemetery in
Miami, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30
p.m. Friday at The Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Commerce, OK.
