Bobby Joe Delcour, 75 of Chetopa, Kansas passed away March 31, 2012 in Joplin Missouri. Bobby was born September 16, 1936 to Bill and Cordilia “Tommie” (Grooms) Delcour in Picher, Oklahoma.

He attended Bethal Free Will Baptist Church in Picher and graduated from Picher High School in 1954. Bobby served in the United States Army for 24 years from 1957 – 1981 when he retired from active duty, while serving he was awarded various commendations including the bronze star. He spent 8 years at North East Oklahoma College, 4 years as a security guard for Eagle Picher, 7 years as a part time security at Miami Baptist Regional Medical Center.

He is preceded in death by his parents who lived in Picher, Oklahoma and a Son: Bobby Joe Delcour of Magazine, Arkansas.

Survivors included: 23 year life companion Freda Grant, Sons: Ricky and Wife Janet Delcour of Ft. Smith, AR, Buddy Delcour, of Carthage, MO, Timmy and wife Debbie of Carthage, MO, and Ray and wife Shelly of Miami, OK. Sisters: Shirley and husband Chet Hart of Fairland, OK, Sherma and David Kopp of Miami, OK. 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, Oklahoma with Pastor Charles Chrisman officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Treece, Kansas under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday, April 3, 2012 from 6-7 at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home. Military Rites will be honored by the Fort Sill Funeral Detail. Pallbearers will be: Ray, Timmy Jr., Josh, Ricky Jr., and Patrick Delcour, John Hart,
William and Robert Grant.
