Alice June Turner, 66 of Picher, Okla. passed from this life on Friday, June 21, 2013 at Carthage Health and Rehab, with her family surrounding her.

Alice was born on May 30, 1947 in Picher, Okla. to the union of Floyd Harvey and Arbella Maxine (Douse) Dunning. She was a lifelong area resident working as a seamstress at Glenn Berry until their closing. She was united in marriage in Miami, Okla., on June 28, 1968 to Robert Frederick Turner. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1995.

Alice enjoyed crocheting, sewing and taking camping trips where they were able to fish. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her family and all the grandchildren.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, Floyd Harvey “Buddy” Dunning Jr.; one sister Martha Jane Turner and three grandchildren. She is survived by two sons, Robert Frederick Turner II and wife Carolyn of Commerce, Okla., and Russell Alan Turner and wife Brandi of Fairland, Okla.; three daughters, Rebecca Turner-Jimerson of Fairland, Okla., Rhonda Joyce Snow and husband Richard E. Sr. of Fairland, Okla., and Robin Maxine Turner-Walker of Fairland, Okla.; one sister Beverly Lemon of Tacoma, Wash., along with several other half brothers and sisters, sixteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at Derfelt’s Baxter Chapel. Burial will follow in the GAR Cemetery, Miami, Okla.
