Maxine Womack of Oswego, Kan., died
Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at her home at the
Chetopa Manor in Chetopa, Kan.
She spent most of her adult life in the
Oklahoma towns of Miami, Fairland and
Picher. She lived in Colorado from 1983
to 1987. In her later years, she resided
in the Kansas towns of Parsons, Altamont
and Oswego.
She worked for 32 years at the King
Louis Mfg. Company in Baxter Springs,
Kan. She was proud of her Lutheran
faith, having been an original charter
member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in
Miami. She married Fred “Bus” Womack on
Sept. 26, 1937. He preceded her in death
in August, 2001.
She was also preceded in death by one
son, Dan Womack in August, 1989;
son-in-law, Steve Caldwell in November,
1995, and most of her siblings with the
exception of her brother Ed.
Survivors include one daughter, Alice
and son-in-law Wayne Banzet; three
grandchildren, Jim Caldwell currently of
Iraq, Jennifer Caldwell Hass and husband
Mark Hass of San Diego, Calif., and Jan
Caldwell of Overland Park, Kan., three
great-grandchildren; Heather Caldwell of
Lamar, Colo., Maya Caldwell of Overland
Park and Katharina Hass of San Diego.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m.
Tuesday at Mount Olive Lutheran Church.
The Rev. Leo Schroeder will officiate.
Burial will be in Glen Abbey Cemetery in
Miami.
The family will receive friends from 1
p.m. until service time Tuesday at the
church.
