Judith “Judy” Gayle Good, a longtime Miami resident passed away at Freeman Hospital in Joplin on Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 at age 69. She was born Nov. 13, 1943 in Picher, Okla. to Lonnie and Pauline Thurman. Judy worked for the family business for several years as well as being the food and beverage Director at Shangri-La Resort. Judy was very active in genealogy research and served as the Ottawa County Contact for others who work in genealogy. Judy was very active in her son’s activities including serving as the President of the Miami High School Football Booster Club for five years. Mrs. Good also had three special dogs at her home; Ziva, Buddy and Walter. She was preceded in death by her parents Lonnie and Pauline Thurman, and a grandson Christopher Good.

Survivors include her husband Joe Good of the home, her children Robert “Bob” Good of Broken Arrow, Okla., William “Bill” Good and his wife Karey of Miami, Joel Good of Miami, Scott Good and his wife Christine of Broken Arrow, a stepson Troy Good of Marshall Town, Iowa, two step-daughters Kim Barber of Marshall Town, Iowa and Chris Felix of Mound City, Kan., three brothers Lonnie, Charles and Dan Thurman and a sister Kacie Caughey, her grandchildren; Ashley Good, Charlissa Good, Aaron Good, Kyle Good, Colin Good, Corbin Good and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013 at the Glen-Abbey Memorial Gardens in Miami under the care of Brown-Winters Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Miami.
