Morris Henry Patton of Miami, Okla. passed away Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2014 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Mo. He was 83.

Henry was born Jan. 22, 1931 at Wyandotte, Okla. to John and Callie (Roark) Patton, the youngest of eight children. He has lived in the Miami area most of his life. He served in the United States Army from 1952-1954 during the Korean War, mostly serving in Germany. He is a member of First Christian Church in Miami. He worked various jobs while growing up and then worked for many years for McCartney / Ingersoll-Rand Company in Baxter Springs, Kan. until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lola Mae Patton in 1997 and his parents and siblings.

Henry married Lee (Haynes) Simmons on Sept. 24, 1999. She survives of the home. Additional survivors include his son, Timothy Ralph Patton and his wife Kay of Wyandotte, Okla., two daughters, Jane Ann Dugan and husbandd Rick of Bartlesville, Okla., Martha Helaine Schroeder and husband Curtis of Quapaw, Okla., one step-son Chuck Simmons and wife Dawn of North Port, Ala., two step-daughters, Cherli Alsbaugh and husband Alan of Miami, Okla. and Cheryn Foreman of Commerce, Okla. He is also survived by his sister, Marie Marlow of Wyandotte, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014 at First Christian Church in Miami, Okla. Pastor Leon Weece and Pastor Brian Brubaker will officiate. Interment will be in Baxter Springs Cemetery, Baxter Springs, Kan. Grandson will serve as pallbearers. Military Rites will be conducted by the American Legion Funeral Detail. The family will receive friends at 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at First Christian Church.
