Helen Arena Heatherly of Picher died
Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at Higher Call Nursing Center in Quapaw.
She was 84.
Helen was born Nov. 17, 1922, in
Cardin to Theodore and Marie Anna (Bell) Tow. She attended Picher High School.
She lived in the area all of her life.
She worked at Glen Berry Manufacturing in Commerce for several years and she
worked at the ammunition plant in Parsons, Kan., for several years. She was
past president of the Picher-Cardin Schools P.T.A. She was a member of Cardin
Baptist Church and past president of the Cardin Baptist Women's Association.
She married Carl Heatherly on Dec. 24, 1937. He preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Louise Irvin,
and a brother, Wesley Tow.Survivors include six sons, Mickey
Heatherly of Joplin, Mo., Larry Heatherly and Dennis Heatherly, both of
Picher, Richard Heatherly of Commerce, Linden Heatherly of Miami and Carl
Heatherly Jr. (Chuck) of Allen, Texas; one daughter, Karlene Bayliss of Quapaw, 10
grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
