Herman C. "Mr. Mac" McMullin



Herman C. "Mr. Mac" McMullin, age 83, of Commerce, Okla., passed away at 11:35 a.m. Saturday, July 17, 2010, in his home surround­ed by family.

Born Nov. 24,1926, in Cromwell, Okla., he served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946 in Europe, and upon dis­charge, he attended and graduated from East Central University in Ada, Okla. He moved to the Picher-Cardin area in 1951 and began a long educational career that ended upon his retirement from the Picher-Cardin school district in 1988. He served many years as mayor of Cardin, Okla. He was a member of the Seminole Tribe of Oklahoma.

On June 1,1952, he married Grace Elizabeth Sanders, who survives at the home.

He is survived by three sons and two daughters, Larry R. McMullin and wife Mary Kay, of Springfield, Mp., Gary L. McMullin and wife Debbie, of Flower Mound, Texas, Charles D. McMullin and wife Ann, of Claremore, Okla., Elizabeth Ann Litflejohn and husband Scott, of Commerce, and Re­becca Ann Thomasson and husband Troy, of Quapaw, Okla. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Two great-grandchildren preceded him in death.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, July 21, at the  First Christian Church in Miami, Okla. Leon Weece will officiate. The family will receive friends after the services.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home, of Miami.
