Edith E. (Maute) Carter 87, passed away at her daughter’s home
in Miami, Friday, February 25, 2011.
She was born May 28, 1923 to Oscar and Mable (Cook) Maute in
Zincville, Oklahoma.
She married Chester LeRoy Carter and he preceded her in death.
Edith retired from Cooking at the Riverton Public Schools System
and moved to Treece, Kansas where she has lived for 25 years.
She proceeded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters
She was of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by daughter and her husband, Evelyn and Kenny Williams of Miami, Son: Chester and wife Martina Carter of Clarksville, TN, son Clifford Carter of Treece, KS, son Fred and wife Liz Carter of Baxter Springs, KS. one brother: Harold Maute of Mojave, CA. 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 28, 2011 at the Greenlawn Cemetery, Treece Kansas with Chaplain John McPhil officiating. I
nterment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery under the direction of
the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami.
