Bobbe Jean Burnett

Bobbe Jean Burnett, 77, of Baxter Springs, Kansas passed away January 1, 2013 in Joplin, Missouri.

Bobbe was born May 3, 1935 to Cecil and Eva (Osgood) North in Picher, Oklahoma and had lived in Picher most of her life before moving to Baxter Springs after the buyout.

She married Jack Burnett on September 29, 1951 in Huntsville, Arkansas and he preceded her in death on January 4, 2003. Bobbe worked for Buy 4 Less in the Bakery department and for Love’s Convenience Store.

She was a member of the Zincville Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Donald North.

Survivors: two sons and their spouses: Jack and Norma Burnett of Miami, OK, Randy and Tammy Burnett of Quapaw, OK, 4 dauhters and their spouses: Shirley and Rodger Edens of Miami, OK, Betty Cole of Miami, OK, Teresa and Randy Dixon of Quapaw, OK, Missy and Sam Beets of Miami, OK, 4 brothers: Jimmy North of Hooker, OK, Cecil Jr. North of Columbus, KS, Kenneth North, Miami, OK, Charlie North of Bluejacket, OK, 3 sisters: Betty Tyree of Quapaw, OK, Judy Vanderflute of Fairland, OK, Doris Long of Commerce, OK. 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild.

Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 4, 2012 at the Fairview Cemetery in Melrose, Kansas. Interment will follow under the direction of the Paul Thomas Funeral Home of Miami, Oklahoma. Son-n-laws and grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
