Billie Jean (Breedlove) Darby, 84, of Webb City, Mo., passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013, following a short illness.

Billie was born Feb. 25, 1929, in Hockerville, Okla., to Jackson and Helen Gooseman Breedlove.

She was a nurse for 35 years with 25 years being employed with the State of Missouri with the State Hospital in Mount Vernon, Mo. She was also a former member of the Springfield, Mo. Board of Education.

She married Chester Darby and he preceded her in death in 1996.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Stanley Davis; three daughters, Delores Davis, Dixie Herrin and Donna Johnson; four brothers, Jackson Breedlove, Paul Breedlove, Leroy Breedlove and Charles Breedlove; and three sisters, Imogene Myers, Juanita Breedlove and Edith Brown.

Billie is survived by three sisters, Freda Brown, Viola Walters and Joann Pennock; seven grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 6, at the Mason-Woodard Mortuary Chapel with Levi Herrin, Minister officiating. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
